The CX202 is the intermediate model in Kawai’s new CX Line, with enhanced features that build upon the strengths of the CX102, providing aspiring pianists with a solid and inspiring start to their musical development.

The CX202 is equipped with Kawai’s Responsive Hammer Compact II keyboard action, with grade-weighted keys and a 3-sensor system for improved accuracy and control. Combined with key cushioning and hammer-sensing technology inherited from the high-specification CN series models, the CX202 delivers a realistic playing feel and quiet, expressive performance that supports confident musical development at home.

This keyboard action is paired with the rich, expressive sound of the Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand piano, reproduced using Kawai’s Harmonic Imaging sound technology. This allows smooth transitions in tonal character from pianissimo to fortissimo, helping developing pianists learn to control expression and dynamics. 

In addition to core acoustic piano sounds, the CX202 also includes a variety of electric pianos, organs, strings, and other instruments, with Dual and Split modes for additional fun and creativity. Its powerful stereo speaker system delivers impressive volume with clarity and warmth, providing an immersive listening experience for players and audiences.

The CX202 includes a range of convenient features designed to support learning and encourage regular practice. Built-in Bluetooth® MIDI and USB-MIDI make it simple to connect to apps like Skoove, Tomplay, and Kawai’s PiaBookPlayer, adding variety and interactivity to each session. Bluetooth Audio enables music from a smartphone or tablet to play through the instrument’s speakers, while dual headphone jacks allow for quiet practice at any time of day — ideal for shared living spaces. 

A built-in metronome promotes a strong sense of timing, and the integrated recorder lets players review their performances and monitor progress. In addition, the Lesson function features songs from popular method books, offering helpful guidance for students learning at home.

Housed within a simple yet refined cabinet, the CX202 complements a variety of interior styles. It is available in Premium Rosewood, Satin Black, and Satin White finishes, and includes practical touches such as a fold-down music rest, sliding key cover, and sturdy toe blocks for added stability.

PianoRemote-App

The CX202 is compatible with Kawai's PianoRemote control app for iOS and supported Android devices. This app connects via the piano's built-in Bluetooth MIDI function and provides an effortless way to change sounds, adjust settings, and enjoy the built-in music content via an attractive user interface.
